Contacts - Our partners

 MbiriMbiri Association - www.mbirimbiri.se

The MMA is a Swedish partner organisation to us and to MCDO. It has helped us create and helps us maintain our campground and it is also through the MMA that extensive plans have been drawn for our second campsite at Lake Mutanda. We seek to realise these plans together (see Lake Mutanda, above).

Mgahinga Community Development Organisation - www.mcdoa.org

MCDO was founded in 2003 by and for the people who live as neighbours to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. It sprung from a common need. In this historically marginalised area, where many people - and particularly women - lack the ability to read and write, different community initiatives were struggling to their feet. MCDO supplies its member organisations with organisational know-how and international contacts. Amajambere Camp was an early member and still enjoys MCDO's support.

Uganda Community Tourism Association - www.ucota.or.ug

UCOTA gathers community tourism initiatives from all over the country and supports us with its guidance and with marketing. UCOTA also supports and trains the handicraft group which offers intricate crafts in a banda at Amajambere Camp.

Uganda Wildlife Association - www.uwa.or.ug

The UWA handles all park activities, including hikes and gorilla tracking. It is their capable rangers who brief our visitors before their treks and who then guide them through the park. Because its main office in Mgahinga is just opposite our campsite, we enjoy close relations with the UWA and can arrange all our visitors' park activities on their behalf. You can also contact them directly for your bookings or in search of specifics about the park.
